I had an amazing experience during the Pistol Permit course held in Savona, NY! From the moment I walked in, our instructor Dana was friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Dana made the whole process smooth, ensuring we understood each aspect taught. I felt comfortable throughout the entire course. The experience was top-notch. I will definitely return to Rochester Personal Defense for more exceptional training.

I have zero experience with shooting or anything guns. I decided to take this class so that I can target shoot and do events with my friends. Rochester Personal Defense was a great experience. I learned a lot and got some very helpful instruction shooting. I feel I can safely handle a gun and am prepared to take more classes and practice shooting. Dana was my instructor and he was engaging, patient and knowledgeable.

Absolutely great experience with Rochester Personal Defense! Mike and the rest of the crew made everyone feel comfortable and confident. Most of the time was going over a slide show, however Mike did an excellent job keeping everyone engaged and the shooting range was the best part. 100% recommend for anyone, whether you’re new to firearms or in law enforcement! Great presentation and attention to the correct details for this training course. The 2nd day training is extremely valuable alone for those who are new to guns. The instructors are very knowledgeable and will help you every step of the way irrelevant of you how new or accustomed you are to shooting. Their goal is to make you at least a bit better by the end of the day than when you started.

Mike is amazing! I couldn’t have spent 2 days not awake with anyone else but him. He kept class light and fun but also very serious!!When I signed up for this class I was dreading the 18 “hour”…But I’m so glad I did it and I’m so glad that I have this new knowledge that I didn’t have before.Highly highly recommend this place!!!!!!!!!My 1st time ever shooting a gun!

I took the NY 18 hour pistol permit course with Rochester Personal Defense and it was a fantastic experience. All instructors were incredibly knowledgeable and had great communication skills to be able to present the information in a clear and engaging way. I learned a ton and had a great time doing it. I highly recommend Rochester Personal Defense for this course and I also plan on taking more courses through them in the future.

I had an excellent experience at the 18 Hour Pistol Permit course. The instructors were great and kept the class engaging I had no prior experience handling a gun but they made me feel at ease lu and David were great I had fun and learn some pretty interesting things and gave me lots of feedback. Just do it!!! Dave and Wendy are incredible instructors with more knowledge and skill than other instructors I have worked with. I'm a novice shooter and I felt that I improved tenfold just after two days with these folks. This course was designed for more experienced shooters but I did not feel that I did not belong. I received expert advice and ran through all of the drills that were presented. BTW, I was the oldest(67 yo) and I would take this course every week if I could!

The teaching staff for the NYS carry concealed class were so very supportive throughout the course! I cannot thank John and Eric enough for their calming presence on the range. It was my first time shooting a pistol and they did everything they could to make it a success! Thank you all for making the 16 hour course such a positive and fun experience!
